Superior Products, Aesthetic Appeal

July 13, 2015

Berliner and Burke helped remake the playgrounds at Lake Zorinsky in Omaha, Nebraska, and Cross Creek in Urbandale, Iowa – through superior product design and aesthetic appeal.

Superior Product Design Still Means Fun

Lake Zorinsky Park now features several play areas associated with different adventure themes; however, the focus – a new 24 ft. web climber sporting vibrant, bright colors – can be seen from across the ballpark, enticing kids of all ages to come and play.

This web climber, a Berliner product designed for playing and climbing right to the top, was chosen for its superior design.

The Berliner Difference

  • The tension is at one point, not several, enabling the complete net to be tensioned by a special mechanism at the top of the pole.
  • The spreader gives a larger footprint, allowing more kids to get to the top.
  • The patented cloverleaf connection allows the replacement of a single cable vs. the entire net structure and lessens the wear and tear on the rope.
  • Above-ground rope hook-up for easy maintenance and wider footprint.

Cross Creek - Burke playground equipmentSituated in a residential neighborhood, aesthetic appeal for the Cross Creek playground was extremely important to the City of Urbandale. The goal was to replace the old playground, giving it a more updated look that would blend in well with a nearby walking trail and the houses in the neighborhood.

Kids love to spin and so Burke’s Comet Spinners have been a hit at Cross Creek (Video: Burke Intensity Curriculum Comet Intensity ).
