Family Park, Shawnee County’s first new park in 50 years, was designed for community inclusion. A key highlight is the DNA Tower, a thrilling 3D net structure for climbing and exploration. The park also features a ground-level Berliner rope play system with a wheelchair-accessible platform, ensuring inclusive play for all. ABcreative was proud to collaborate on this project, bringing a unique and adventurous play experience to the community.

A Personal Reflection on Family Park's Impact:

"As a lifelong Topeka resident, I've never seen anything like the new Family Park playground in our community. The project has generated so much joy and excitement for kids and parents alike. On a recent Saturday morning my kids and I decided to head to Family Park - when we got there, I was amazed to see so many families coming together, laughing, and playing in a way I haven't seen before. The park was full and families everywhere you looked, and people were full of energy, smiles and laughter, kids climbing, playing, and running around, while parents joined in on the fun or socialized with other visitors of the playground. People are talking about how much this playground means to the Topeka community. Parents tell me how much this helps to get kids interested to go outside, play, create memories and be off the couch and off screens. Visiting the playground and park fills me with pride for the work I do and with community pride. To see everyone together and having a place that is encouraging kids to get outside, be active, and connect with others. It’s amazing what an impact Family Park has had in my hometown. I can’t wait to see the spark this brings to Topeka and the additional projects this will ignite." — Bobby Coon, ABcreative Playground Consultant
