Why was ABCreative chosen for the project?

ICON Shelters was able to produce the custom shelter envisioned by the landscape architect for this quaint neighborhood park.

Project overview and highlights.

Faced with a unique opportunity to develop a new park in an established area, the city of Kirkwood relied on Planning Design Studio of St. Louis, Missouri to deliver a design for Monfort Park. This neighborhood park features the stone clad pavilion, an age inclusive playground, benches, and a drinking fountain; all of which are located among carefully preserved mature trees.

The planning and design improvements to the Kirkwood Parks system received a design award from the Saint Louis Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects.

The landscape architects utilized the ICON Craftsman style shelter as a design basis for the pavilion. Stone was saved from the existing home on the property that was donated to the city to be a park. The stone was used to clad the columns and the integrated bench seat. A pagoda-style flair was added to the roof which is constructed with a Douglas fir tongue and groove base and shingle finish.
