Dagg Park, part of North Kansas City’s Parks & Recreation Department, is five acres with two new playgrounds.  One playground is for 2 to 5-year olds and the other is for 5 to 12-year olds.

The renovated park had its grand opening on May 28th and, as you can see, everyone enjoyed what the park has to offer!

Playground Centerpiece: Berliner Neptun Pyramid

Berliner’s Neptun climbing pyramid features a fort at the top and an attached 12-foot slide. This accessible unit offers unlimited play opportunities – climbing up, down and side-to-side. Berliner’s structures are true, 3-dimensional climbers, encouraging kids to think about where they want to go and create their own path to get there.

The rubber membrane and the rope ladder are just two of the many ways for kids to get to the top, where they can find an HDPE fort. The 3D net underneath offers enough space for dozens of kids and the long slide, the fastest way down, enables kids to experience the acceleration of the curved slide.

The Berliner Neptun Fort Structure is the only one of it’s kind in the Midwest.

Swing, Spin and Balancing Challenges for Kids

The saucer swing allows several children to “fly on the cloud” at one time. It is accessible, allowing children with special needs to enjoy the swinging movement with other children or their care giver.

Typically, one of the most popular pieces on the playground, the Comet II spinner challenges children to use their strength, balance and coordination. It can be used by one child or a group, sitting or standing either inside or out. The children use their strength to move it.

Even though the Champignons, those ball-like objects the children are balancing on, look like they might be some form of public art, they really are playground equipment. Balancing helps children develop coordination, muscular strength and endurance, postural control and more.

Fun for Younger Children, Too

A mini net climber, toddler swings, a spinner and Funserts make the playground for younger children fun and challenging, too.

Funserts, made from multicolored synthetic grass, stand out from the playground grass, adding excitement and fun to playground designs. These playful additions offer the opportunity to maximize creativity without sacrificing safety.
